Before you go around tut-tutting your moral outrage at Israel defending itself, just remember who uses the killing of innocent civilians as a policy tool, Arafat, Hamas, etc., and who uses self-defense (Israel). Remember the Arab world which has rejected the Israeli's right to exist since 1948, even when the Palestinian Arabs were offered their own state. Remember the doublespeak of Yasser Arafat, architect of modern terrorism, who pledged peace in English and then urges Jihad in Arabic. Israel has fought Arabs for 55 years, Arabs who wanted to finish what Hitler started? Dont' believe me? I would rather spend money helping the only democracy in the MIddle East defend itself from a gang of racists and bigots who want to establish a violent pan-world Islamic theocracy than I would, say, spend bribe money on the Egyptians so they won't invade Israel. "Jerusalem" is mentioned more than 600 times in the Jewish bible--it's not mentioned once in the Quran. After the Jews were scattered by the Romans in 70 AD, the Arabs moved into the old Jewish state and pretty much treated it like a no-man's land. There is no such thing as a "Palestinian". "Palestine" is the geographical term for the old Holy Land--any person that lives there, Jewish, Christian, Muslim could be termed a "Palestinian". It is not an ethnic designation. Yasser Arafat and the gang are "Palestinian" Arabs-- there is no deep connection between them and their "lost land". The Jews are entitled to their state, to their ancient homeland. They have offered concessions and money and every deal imaginable to the 'peaceful' Islamics in an effort for peace, but they don't want that.
